Monday 25th December 2006

It is "that" time of the year again, Boxing Day, and we are off to the Woodford Folk Festival Google Earth placemark for a week...we are very confident that Tall Boy will not have a wild New Years Eve party. No...seriously...

This year The Sheila and I open the festival with the first talk in The Greenhouse on the first day. Then I am back doing my first Climate Change presentation...yes I am fully prepared...not. I also have a few comedy gigs including the comedy debate which is "That global warming is a good thing". S Sorrensen, who puts it all together clearly has a sense of humour because I am on the affirmative.

Boxing Day is also the start of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race Google Earth placemark. The Google Earth link will show the position of the boats during the race...very cool.

In 1998 I was there. Check out this fantastic photo taken as we approached the start line - that's me on the bow of Cruz Control on the right (link is to 2000 race report). Given the weather forecast I think I am glad I am not going this time.

Sydney - Hobart yacht race start

See you next year.
